Risk
Management
Maintaining a fair premium doesn’t have something to
do with controlling risk, it has everything to do with it,
which is why—along with a sound organizational structure—we
are taking an aggressive stance as risk management leaders.
As part of our overall strategy to contain premium increases, we have
implemented several programs designed to help reduce the number of claims
our subscribers could face. They are:
Working with Hospitals
By coordinating risk management with the hospitals that serve the
majority of our physicians, we are able to prevent claims more effectively.
And, if there happens to be an unintended result, claims are handled
more effectively through this collaboration. Because we work so closely
with hospitals, our subscribers manage risk more effectively and their
performance is better than average.
Free Continuing Medical Education
To comply with the conditions of membership, each NJHPIX subscriber
is required to complete and pass a continuing medical education
course, which will be worth between 6 and 8 credit, provided by
the company each year. The course is provided at no additional
charge to subscribers and the examination will be offered online and
in hard copy format. The following courses are offered to each subscriber
based upon his/her year of renewal - Medical Error Prevention Strategies,
Medical Legal Issues in Risk Management and Effective Patient-Physician
Communication.
Practice Audit
No matter what your claims experience, NJHPIX has experts available
to review your practice patterns and make recommendations to reduce
future risks. We believe in giving our doctors every option to keep
their records clean and rest easier at night. |
